Michael is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and is also qualified to teach TRX suspension training and Hypopressives/Low Pressure Fitness. He currently works at his home clinic in Alta Vista and at a multidisciplinary clinic in downtown Ottawa.
Michael graduated with honours from Oxford College Massage Therapy program. He is passionate about the benefits of Massage Therapy and enjoys treating clients of all ages. Michael begins his initial treatment with a brief assessment and develops a treatment plan suited to his client’s individual needs. He has experience treating a wide range of conditions such as chronic neck and back pain, headaches, sprains/strains, plantar fasciitis, piriformis syndrome, TMJ dysfunction, thoracic outlet syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, IT band friction syndrome and sciatica. Michael's specialties include Swedish massage, myofascial release, joint mobilization, passive stretching and deep tissue massage. Combining these different techniques makes for an effective yet relaxing massage treatment.
Michael is excited to work with his clients to help them reach their wellness goals. An important step toward progress and recovery, lies with home care and remedial exercise. With his training Michael can put together a tailored program to address both imbalances in the core, and instruct functional exercises for improving everyday activity and function.
Prior to perusing his passion of Massage Therapy, Michael completed his bachelor of Music at Queen’s University (voice) and still actively enjoys singing and teaching music. In his personal time he enjoys hiking, historical reenactment, and playing his cello.
